reebok yoga line

I am just so excited to check out Tara Stile's spring yoga line at Reebok that just came out! Woo hoo!!

Not sure what the availability is like in Canada, but I'm lucky enough to check out the Reebok stores in Florida to get a sneak peak of her full line ... yes, I will probably buy every piece of clothing :)

morning delight

One of my many resolutions I promised myself I would keep in 2013 is to make at least one juice a day. I bought my new juicer on Amazon during the holidays when there were mad sales and I must say...I'm kinda getting the hang of it!

The benefits of juicing are endless! I'm also trying to get into a routine of making one green juice a day as well, since the dark leafy greens like kale and collard help alkalinize the body. I always make sure to add an apple or a pear to my green juices, which makes it taste much MUCH better!!

This week, I'm getting into the routine of making oatmeal breakfast smoothies. This smoothie recipe went so well with my breakfast, that I thought I would share (it's so simple!):
  • 1 1/2 cups of almond milk
  • 1/2 cup raw oats
  • 2 bananas (fozen would give it a real smoothie taste)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 scoop of Vega Smoothie Mix (in berry flavour - yum!)

Remember, juices should not be meal supplements. But they can be a great booster in the AM and PM (maybe instead of coffee)? Always try to buy organic produce if you can, and drink you juice as soon as possible!

Cheers!

interested in a book club?

I would love to be in a real live (in person) book club each month. Well...maybe every other month (yes, I'm a slow reader!). When I lived in Montreal, I would always see meetups at local cafes on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone would gather around the smallest coffee tables (because everything is xs in that city) with their current book of the month over tea or hot cocoa, and just discuss their thoughts and imaginations by the fire place. It looks like fun! The only problem for me is that it was always in french, and well... that would be another resolution to add to my never ending resolution list :)

Anyway, one of my favourite author's, Gretchen Rubin, has started a book club each month. And all her picks are books about happiness, which is my kinda of book club! It's a virtual online book club, but if your like me and don't know anyone that's in a book club, it's a great place to start!

Pick of the month for January 2013: The Enchanted April

I already reserved my copy at the library!

Happy reading!

the holidays

2012 is coming to an end and I must say... I can't WAIT until 2013! This has been one busy CRAZY hell of a year and I hope 2013 brings nothing but Z.E.N. all over the world.

My hubby and I are finally getting settled into our new home in Kanata, and have mountains of snow in our front yard. The weather in Ottawa has made this Christmas very memorable and I am so excited to go on our spa day on new years eve. We are heading to the Nordik Spa in Gatineau for some much needed R&R time! We are ending our year on a Bang!

Isn't this white fluff pretty!!

My hubby made me this to feel better...oh ya, I had the flu over the holidays :(

Is Frosty drinking again? Well, cheers to ya!

Someone is missing their HABS, what a sad sad season for hockey fans!

peace

I just love this video posted by Lululemon! Quiet time is essential our daily lives to wipe out all the junk in our brains. Namaste!

Peace!

happier at home - a look behind the scenes

I am a huge fan of Gretchen Rubin's writing. I admire how real and honest she is about life and happiness, and I find I can really relate. Her tips in The Happiness Project are so useful, and with her new book, Happier at Home is perfect timing for me since my hubby and I are moving into a new home.

We have been living 'city loft style' for the past 6 years, from the heart of Plateau Montreal to the Glebe in Ottawa. Renting has been fun for us while we were in our 20s because we felt so free and mobile. We knew that we could just pick up and live anywhere in the world. It was such a great feeling and we had no worries, just lived each day for the moment and we now have so many happy memories.

Its funny, as you get older, you change. You really do! You start wanting a family and a nest to call your own and settle down. I believe that is where Gretchen Rubin's Happiness Project and Happier at Home books fit in real nicely. She gives off this warm comfort aura, and makes that part of life simple and easy as she shares her own experiences. She provides so many pointers on just how to make your life easier. If you subscribe to her blog, (which I highly recommend you do!) you will receive daily timbits of information and happiness quotes that make you think about life. Sometimes all you need is baby steps to make life that much better.

Check out her 'Behind the Scenes' video where she takes you into her home to share more about her thought process and actually shows you some ideas she outlines in The Happiness Project.
