devilishly yummy peach crumble

·       2 1/2 to 3 pounds fresh peaches, peeled, pits removed, sliced
·       1/4 cup brown sugar
·       1 cup all-purpose flour
·       1 cup granulated sugar
·       1 teaspoon baking powder
·       1/2 teaspoon salt
·       1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
·       ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
·       1 large egg, beaten
·       1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
Combine sliced peaches and brown sugar, stirring well to blend. Pour into a buttered 11- x 7-inch baking dish.
Combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and cinnamon, stirring to blend well. Add the beaten egg, stirring lightly with fork until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the peaches then drizzle with the melted butter. Bake the peach crumble at 375° for 38 to 40 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve with some yummy vanilla ice cream and bon appetit!

canoeing at dow's lake - summer fun

Nothing beats living in Ottawa, especially in the summer! The air is so fresh, the city is so green, and everyone is so active. The city is filled with miles and miles of trails and there is so much life outside. Everyone is dressed in the active gear and ready to move. The streets are filled with runners, cyclers, rollerbladers, and yogis. And the water is filled with paddle boaters, canoers, and kayakers.

I tried to capture the life of a canoer last night, and these pics turned out incredible. There is nothing better than sitting in a canoe after work (on a Monday night!) eating timbits, drinking timmys and listening to Jack Johnson while canoeing the canals of Ottawa!
